Last weekend we attended the funeral of this dear woman, Mike's grandmother, Emma Jane Rogers. She was a wonderful person. When I met all of Mike's big extended family, an event than can be a little scary for a girlfriend, Grandma Rogers immediately made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I loved her right off the bat. Over the past almost 8 years that I've known my husband I have learned the importance and the significance this woman has had in his life. I will be forever grateful for the love and support Grandma gave to my sweet husband. He learned things from her that no one else in his life could have done with such grace, humility, respect and love. She played a big part in cultivating some of the many qualities I adore in my husband. When Mike suggested that we name our daughter Emma, there was no hesitation. I loved the name but more importantly, I loved the woman that she would be named after. Here are a few of the qualities that I love about Grandma Rogers:
selflessness (always serving those around her)
LOVING
hard working
open minded
non-judgemental
humble
sweet
great faith in God
motherly
forgiving
doesn't hold a grudge
soft
gifted gardener and cook
peace maker
adventuresome
wonderful grandma

How wonderful that Emma has such a special person to be named after. Love to your family, I know how hard it is to lose such a wonderful person.
Oh Dani. I'm sorry for your loss. What a special tribute to her.
I am headed to Portland tomorrow to visit Delaney's namesake, my Gram!! We gave Delaney my Gram's middle name, Katherine. So we have Dorothy Katherine and now Delaney Katherine.
I'll for sure post photos of it soon...
Hugs to you all.

It seems like she was a really neat lady. I'm glad those Emmas were able to cross paths here on earth. What a special picture of the two of them together.
Emma will treasure that picture of her and her great grandma forever. What a sweet picture! I love the tribute you gave to her too:0) You are so great Dani!
