Juno

This is my new favorite movie! It's a little risque for those of you seeking 100% wholesome entertainment and should be viewed with a mature audience but it is sooooo funny! It's about a girl in her teens that becomes pregnant and decides to give her baby up for adoption. It is hilarious, happy, sad, honest and heart warming. I really enjoyed it! It's witty and original like My Big Fat Greek Wedding with the quirkiness of Napolean dynamite. I'm curious to hear what you think if you've seen it.

My sister saw it and said, "Rachel. Don't see it. It's a movie you will not like!"
But now I want to see it!! :)
So I think I just might. Is it PG-13?

I'm soooo jealous you have time to watch movies! :) By the time I finally find time to watch tv, I fall asleep half way into whatever movie I'm watching. One of these days, I'm going to have a big movie marathon...

Since I'm an adoptive mom, I'm interested in how it portrays adoption. Positively or negatively? Would someone walk out of that movie thinking, "Yah, placing my baby for adoption could actually be a good thing for everyone involved" or would they leave thinking, "No way would I ever do that-adoption is horrible!"

Maybe we're hyper-involved since this is my husband's line of work, but we get so many birth moms that are thinking of placing, who are then persuaded not to by family or friends who aren't really thinking about what's best for the baby.

So many people judge birthmoms for their decisions, saying "How could she do that? Doesn't she love her baby?" when the exact opposite is true: of course she loves her baby! And that's why she's sidelining her own pain to give a better life to her baby.

Whoa...sorry about the soap box. Maybe I should just watch the movie!
