This is for those of you that wanted to know how I made my photo mats in my last two posts. I will share my secret with you but I must warn you, this could turn into an addictive habit! And for those of you that have spent lots of money on scrap booking materials, you may want to stop reading and forget this idea altogether! However, digital scrap booking is a blessing for those of you that get completely overwhelmed with traditional scrap booking! In this day and age with digital cameras, where most of our photos are already on our computers, scrap booking does not have to be an overwhelming chore. Buy yourself a digital scrap booking program for your computer like Adobe Photo shop or Memory Mixer and within minutes you will have created some beautiful pages that you can either print at Costco and stick in an album or send to a photo printing company that will actually make a hardcover book for you! You will save time and money. I digitally scrapped a whole year of Emma's life within a week. Had I done it the traditional way, physically cutting paper, gluing little embellishments, etc., it would have taken me months. In fact, I would have been so overwhelmed that I probably wouldn't have finished it! I will say that the quality of the traditional way is probably better. So for those of you that have purchased lots of scrap booking materials and really enjoy doing it then great! Forget digital scrap booking. But for those of you that get overwhelmed and view scrap booking as a chore, then go digital, baby!

Decisions decisions. What's this girl to do??
I'd love to see Emma's baby book... would you mind one of these days showing me??
THat's a really good idea. The paper way is not working for me. I'm still working on my mission album. Um, yah.
I'm in a scrapbooking crossroads. I am kind of hybrid right now....still trying to decide my long term plan!
Is Adobe Photo Shop easy for you? My husband bought it for me a year ago, and I seem to get too frustrated trying to figure out how to do anything... What's the secret?
I never finished my mission scrap book either, Sal! I still have probably 300 or so photos left to scrap. ugh! I might have to take them to Kinkos, scan them and then digitally scrap the rest of the book if I'm ever going to finish!
Catherine, I have Memory Mixer. Its a lot cheaper but more limited than Adobe Photo shop. However, it meets my needs for now! Its a cool program!
Thanks for your insight. It's a tough decision. I have invested a lot of money into scrapbook supplies, however, I am using NONE of it right now. I feel like blogging has taken the place of scrapbooking in so many ways. BUT I do LOVE the cute pages you have been putting up :) Keep 'em coming.
Thanks for sharing your secret. I remember talking about this with you earlier. Way to go! Those pages look great. If Blurb doesn't work out for me, I'll definitely try digital scrapbooking.
I've heard great things about Memory Mixer. If you go onto Leelou Blogs I am sure she has a 30% off thing going with the owner of it. I really should do it.
